Despite the fact that Motown, The Motor City, Hockeytown, or Rock City has fallen on hard times as of late, there’s no denying that Detroit has had a major impact on pop culture and an important role in American history. To celebrate the automotive center and the artists and personalities who call Detroit home, Nudie Jeans turned to The 313 for inspiration.
The Swedish-based purveyor of soulful denim recently unveiled its Summer 2014 Collection which has used Detroit as a muse. The collection heavily features sharp black, bright white and smoky grey tones with red accents, which is meant to represent the nerve that is the dire reality of Detroit. The bottoms are tight and slim, but have been contrasted with oversized tops. Overall the minimally designed collection features striped denim pants, organic denim jeans, graphic tees, solid and patterned sweaters, solid and patterned button-downs and lightweight jackets.
If you’re looking to unleash your inner rock star this summer, the Nudie Jeans Summer 2014 Collection will definitely accomplish that task.
You can pick up the Motor City-inspired summer collection over at the official Nudie Jeans online shop. Until then, check out some images from the lookbook to get you motivated.
