Not that long ago Colorado’s Topo Designs released their amazing Fall 2013 Lookbook. Now the brand has released a fascinating collection of bags with outdoor clothing brand Woolrich.
For those unfamiliar with Woolrich, the label has been synonymous with quality outdoor clothing for well over 180 years. The company was founded by John Rich in 1830 by selling woolen fabric, socks, coverlets, and yarn to the people living in the lumber camps of Pennsylvania. Legend has it that Woolrich was the first company to use a zipper in men’s trousers. Even if that is folklore, the company designed popular and timeless items like the Railroad Vest and Buffalo Check Shirt.
Despite surviving the Civil War, the Great Depression, two world wars, and the end of the Cold War, competition from L.L.Bean, Eddie Bauer, The Timberland Company, The North Face, Patagonia and Columbia placed Woolrich in difficult times. However, America’s oldest manufacturer of outdoor gear has kept its doors open by continuing to create quality goods that are proudly made in the USA.
It also doesn’t hurt by teaming up with one of the most buzzed outdoor companies currently around.
