When you think of the trench coat there should be only one brand that comes to mind. Burberry.

It’s been that ever since World War I after Thomas Burberry after he was commissioned by the British government to create survive the brutal trenches. Following the war, it’s said that some half a million men were wearing trench coats. If you’re serious about your denim, then you’re most likely familiar with the famous White Oak plant from Greensboro, NC – who began producing denim back in 1905. At one point, the Cone Mills Corporation was the largest producer of denim in the world. Although the plant faced some extremely tough times, the demand for “selvage” denim allowed the vintage Draper looms to once again spin in 2012. The trend has become so popular that one of the most respected labels today has recently partnered with the classic denim producer.

Copenhagen’s Norse Projects has unveiled premium jeans made from White Oak Cone Denim in three fits; regular, slim, and tapered. Aficionados will definitely enjoy the fact that these 100% cotton jeans feature redline selvage, button-fly construction, 13.75 oz indigo twill fabric, and were made in the USA.

Hopefully, the last major taste of winter has come and gone. Which means that it’s time to begin prepping for our spring and summer ensembles. Some of the most interesting pieces that we’ve seen so far is the latest collaboration between Florsheim and Duckie Brown.

What makes the collection appealing is the merger between the traditional and quality shoes that Florsheim has been creating since its founding in 1892 and Duckie Brown’s mission of “dressing men beautifully,” which the line has done since 2001. The first partnership between the brands first occurred in 2009, but we feel that this year is exceptional.

The 2014 collection includes a wide range of bold and vibrant colors, such as mint, camel, bourbon, rose, and moss, that are perfect for announcing the changing over to warmer seasons. More impressive are the styling offerings. Everything from penny loafers, tassle loafers, chukkas, beaded brogues and saddle shoes are included in the line.

Forever changing the way we interact with the world, Apple makes one of their biggest moves in recent years with the introduction of their CarPlay interface. Effectively, CarPlay works by allowing iPhones to take over a car’s internal display screen to present an iPhone-esque interface. This allows individuals to increase connectivity between their cars and their phones on features like GPS, Phone, Siri and iTunes. Though it will not be backwards compatible, Apple has already announced major players like Ferrari, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, Honda, and others joining the fold. Check out more at Apple’s CarPlay site.

About two weeks ago we caught our first look at the upcoming collaboration between Wood Wood and Clarks Sportswear via a 35 second teaser video, which you can view here.

Initially, we didn’t know what to think. The clip, which featured a falling pair of the navy and burgundy shoes, was interesting to say the least. But, we weren’t exactly sure if they were an essential item for you to have in your possession. That was until we spotted the second video teaser.

The hypnotizing clip features the shoes, along with the bold white rubber sole and rugged leather laces, spinning round and round to a track reminiscent of a Radiohead tune. We weren’t sure what was going on. But, it was enough to intrigue us on the release.

If you’re not familiar with Wood Wood, here’s a quick background. It’s a Danish label that was launched back in 2002 by three designers. Originally, the founders were only looking to do a small collaboration that combined well-made classics with a twist. However, the label has grown into a full range clothing brand that includes t-shirts, jackets and shirts with retail locations in Copenhagen, Aarhus, Berlin and Vienna.

Clarks, on the other hand, has been a staple in men’s fashion ever since 1825; after James Clark had the idea to craft slippers from sheepskin. Today, the international shoe manufacturer remains in Street, Somerset, England and has around 1,000 stores in 160 countries.

Knowing the history of both brands, it’s easy to understand why this collaboration was not only suggested, but also works to perfection. The Danish and updated twist on the iconic Clarks Sportswear’s Wallabee-inspired Tawyer Woodz silhouette is a welcome addition to any man’s footwear collection during the early part of spring. On top of looking sharp, the shoes contain a lightly padded collar and interior bootie that will deliver comfort, as well as, a snug fit.

Expect the Clarks by Wood Wood collaboration to be available exclusively in Wood Wood stores on March 6, 2014 and retailers including Alike. The global release is set for March 15, 2014.

Feburary 2011 was an interesting moment for mens’s fashion. It was the time when two of the most polarizing figures made their debut. Who would have guessed that three years later they would be collaborating on an interesting capsule that’s bound to turn some heads.

It was recently announced that the one and only Mr Porter would be joining forces with J.W. Anderson for a small capsule that’s going to be perfect as we transition from the winter to the spring.

If you’re unfamiliar with Mr. Porter, the retailer has easily become the premier global online retail destination for men’s style since launching in February 2011. Over the years, Mr. Porter has become known for its exclusive items from some of world’s leading designers, including Gucci, Givenchy, Burberry, Lanvin, Alexander McQueen, Dolce & Gabbana and Richard James. How, the brand is also known for hosting pieces specialist brands such as John Lobb and Valextra.

J.W. Anderson is one of the more exciting and intriguing figures originating from the London fashion scene. His breakout moment also came in Feburary 2011 after he paired a mod paisley silk pajama suit with a white rubber clerical collar, which was the centerpiece of his second women’s collection. Since then, Anderson has released collections that often blur gender lines.

At first, you wouldn’t expect this collaboration to be successful, but somehow, it works for both parties. For example, the eight-piece set includes a pair of white button-downs and a very appealing and stylish sweatshirt. Of course, there are rebellious items like the quilted-sleeved denim jacket and the pleated shorts which resemble the silhouette of a skirt.
