Last year was the first-ever collaboration between Gap and GQ, which was dubbed the Best New Menswear Designers in America. The idea was bring attention to up-and-coming American menswear designers and then offer these looks to men at affordable prices. The result was a collection that sold out in a jiffy. So, why wouldn’t the two brands give it another go-around.
For 2013, the Best New Menswear Designers in America, according to Gap and GQ, include promising designers Aviator Nation, Baldwin, Bespoken, and Ernest Alexander. Each designer has added their own signature style to the limited edition 37 piece collection that are some of our favorites for Fall ’13. Here’s just a glimpse into this collection.
Aviator Nation
This brand is sending us some good vibrations from Cali with a comfortable and relaxing collection that includes a vest, sweaters, tee, sweatpants and a hat.
Baldwin
Baldwin created an inspiring collection that converts traditional outdoorsy looks into everyday apparel, as evident with the collection’s cargo pants. There’s also a nylon jacket, cardigan and solid oxford shirts that are perfect for any occasion.
Bespoken
Bespoken went with a more edgier look, which is perfect for young urbanites, that includes everything from camo button-downs to moleskin jeans to a stylish twill tie. Our absolute favorite though, is the suede baseball jacket.
Ernest Alexander
Finally, there are the refined and functional pieces from Ernest Alexander. Alexander’s collection mainly includes accessories, such as leather belts and bags, but there’s also a four-pocket waxed jacket and a bold chambray shirt.
As with last year, we anticipate the America’s Best New Menswear Designers collaboration to sell out pronto. So, we suggest that you head out to your local mall or stop by Gap.com to snag some of these choice items. It’s definitely not everyday that you can find high-fashion clothing and accessories at these kind of prices.
