Ahead of next month’s IAA Motor Show in Frankfurt, Ferrari has revealed a surprise ‘Speciale’ edition of their beloved 458 ‘Italia’. Pininfarina designed, the new 458 features some aerodynamic changes, as well as a Side Slip system that manages torque and keeps all that new-found speed on the pavement. Furthermore, aerodynamic flaps at both the front and rear automatically adjust to balance the downforce; reducing drag and improving braking performance. Under the hood is a V8 4.5-liter engine capable of 605 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque; which Ferrari argues is the most powerful naturally-aspirated V8 ever produced. Of course all these features make it one hell of a fast car, with a 0 to 60 time in around three seconds flat. The 458 Speciale is set to make its debut in Frankfurt on September 10, until then you can ogle the car over at Ferrari’s dedicated site.
